Using Amazon ElastiCache to Implement Caching

Why it matters

Before using a cache in a GenAI application, you need practice connecting to its storage service and reading data. This exercise provides that general ElastiCache infrastructure background for the cache discussion in 4.1.6.

What to practise

Create an ElastiCache cluster, authorize access, and test connectivity. Load sample data into Redis, read the top scores from a sorted set, and delete the cluster. Watch whether connectivity succeeds and what the sorted-set read returns.

How it fits

For 4.1.6, treat this as background in operating a potential cache store. Its sample-data operations do not implement the GenAI response-reuse decisions or compare the cache approaches that the Bite examines.
