01 - Build MCP Server in Azure Logic Apps

Completed by opening the official lab

Why it matters

Logic Apps lets an agent reach connector actions as MCP tools, so one workflow app can carry a large catalog of enterprise integrations.

What to practise

Start from a Logic Apps Standard app with no workflows and no Easy Auth, and create the MCP server from Azure API Center, which provisions the resources and registers the server, rather than the manual path’s Entra app registration and Easy Auth. Add the Microsoft Teams connector action “Post message in a chat or channel” as a tool, and decide which of its parameters the model fills. Then get the server URL from the listMcpServers management API or from API Center. The exercise stops there: no agent calls the server. Both setup paths it names are preview.

How it fits

Choosing which action becomes a tool and which inputs the model supplies is 2.3.6. The tool posts as your user through the connector, so ask who may call the server and whose identity the post carries: 2.3.6 keeps MCP access and connector execution separate.
