A Simple Jira Agent that Extracts POR and creates tickets
Completed by opening the official lab
Why it matters
Creating tickets in a shared tracker is a write that other people see and act on. This example places the human approval inside the tool that performs that write.
What to practise
Set jira_domain and jira_project_key in config.yml, export a Jira token, and run nat run on por_requirements.txt. You need access to a Jira project. Read how create_jira_tickets_tool loads hitl_approval_fn with builder.get_function and calls acall_invoke() before it creates anything. Answer no and watch the tool hand the agent a message that ends the run without tickets. Note that only a reply containing the word yes approves, and an error while getting the reply also defaults to not uploading.
How it fits
Binding the approval to the operation that executes is 10.4.1’s rule; decide which of your actions are consequential enough to need it. Anyone at the terminal can approve here, so compare that with the role-based reviewer assignment in 10.4.3.
