The Workflow Agent

Why it matters

Deciding each step after seeing a result (ReAct) or planning every step first (ReWOO) changes what can run in parallel and what breaks when a result surprises the plan. This page runs the planned shape end to end.

What to practise

Run the ReWOO cell: one schema-bound planner call emits three to five search queries, plain code runs them concurrently with Promise.all, and a second call synthesizes the brief. Edit the research goal and watch the query list change. Then route a ticket through a four-value enum to one specialist, and fan a shared input out to specialists built by a factory. Answer the closing questions, especially what happens when a later query needs an earlier result.

How it fits

The planned queries are subtasks in the sense of 5.2.2, and the closing question is its failure case: this pipeline runs every planned query at once, so a query that needs an earlier result runs without it. Compare the two shapes by when the model decides, as 5.3.1 does for upfront and interleaved planning.
